it is a thankless job to do a long-term project during a time of quickly-changing realities; by the time it is finished, it may be outdated. It seems to be happening to this particular Special Report, which we were just finishing as post-election protests against alleged fraud documented in the blogosphere spilled into the squares of Moscow and other Russian cities.
