Andrew Roth

Andrew Roth was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He graduated from Stanford University with a dual degree in Mathematics and Slavic Languages and Literature and an M.A. in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies. He interned at the New York Times Moscow Bureau in the summer of 2009 and studied abroad at the Academy of the National Economy in Moscow and Smolny College in St. Petersburg. Andrew joined Russia Profile in December 2010. He plays the guitar and has an interest in Turkish, as well as the Central Turkic languages of Central Asia.
